Cool Mornings!

We Arizonans love this time of year and sometimes it only seems to last a few weeks before it gets cold (for Phoenix, that is!). But these lovely mornings do not go unnoticed. Heaven!

I am reading "Comfortable with Uncertainty" a bit every morning. There are about 100 short essays from the American Buddhist nun, Pema Chodron. Many persons have mentioned her works to me and this was my selection to begin with. The book is now lovingly and repeatedly dog-eared.

Just want to offer a sampling of the wisdom in this book.

"Six ways of compassionate living-generosity, discipline, patience, joyful exertion, meditation, and pranja or unconditional wisdom. Each one is an activity we can use to take us beyond aversion and attachment, beyond being caught up in ourselves, beyond our illusion of separateness."

OK on with the day!

Back From Cincy Quilt Show and Visiting Friends/family!

Believe it or not, this is the biggest show I have ever attended!!! Two days and about 6 hours, and I guess I might have seen about 1/3 of it!!

BUT I *did* shop!! lol! Got a carrycase for my little Featherweight, a kit and book for a primitive applique quilt in MY colors, and several other bits of fabric and patterns.

THEN Janice and I went to Belpre, OH and Neff's Country Loft where the shop is built around a TREE!!! And thousands of tiny lights adorn the tree--altogether magical!!

There, I bought "Snow Days" by Crabapple Hill, the floss for the embroidery (I AM going to master embroidery!) by Cosmo, and then asked the owner, Beverly Neff, to forward the kit for the quilt---and it was waiting for me when I got home--Thanks, Beverly!!!

MMMMMM! Now for a wonderful WOOL quilt!!

This is part of my stash of recycled wool, along with some wonderful hand-dyes!!! I plan on piecing the quilt, scrappy-fashion, and the appliqueing the leaves cut from the autumnal shades of hand-dye!! Then back with snuggly flannel and just hand, tieing with crochet cotton!! I canot wait! It will be a kind of cabin throw for our cruel Phoenix winters!!
